The Randy Rogers Band remains one of the biggest draws in Texas and their newest album, Homemade Tamales — Live at Floore’s, captures the rowdy side of the country band, not to mention the enthusiasm of the crowd.
One of the new tracks on the project is “Satellite,” a thoughtful song that shows the other side of a traveling musician’s life. Brady Black’s beautiful fiddle introduction quickly sets the mood for this exclusive acoustic performance, which was filmed in the CMT studio in Nashville.
“I came into the writing session wanting to capture the same vibe and feel of maybe missing someone that you love so much, without necessarily saying ‘I love you,’” Rogers says. He also describes the sentimental song as “just a little poem about trying to stay connected to those that are back home, and we’re out here chasing our dreams and being us.”
Fans can experience the energy of Homemade Tamales — Live at Floore’s firsthand when the band returns to that historic venue in Helotes, Texas, on Thursday (June 19).
