Nikki Lane sounds perfectly seductive and tempting in “Right Time,” the opening track from her second album, All or Nothin’, but beware of this siren’s call. In her brand new video, Lane becomes a true femme fatale.
She told CMT Edge the track was born out of a frustrating writing session and added that people always know when a song is about them.
“That’s just how it goes,” she explains. “If you start dating a songwriter, you’re going to notice pretty quickly that you’re going to be the victim of their anger or their love.”
In the “Right Time” video, Lane plays a leather-clad revenge specialist helping women deal with that anger part. Guest-starring her Americana friends Shelly Colvin, Cory Chisel and Robert Ellis — along with a sleek Pontiac GTO — Lane leads viewers into her stylishly-deranged world.
Slip into the orbit of this rising star with “Right Time.” Just don’t let yourself fall too hard.
