Farewell Milwaukee Hold Out for “True Love”

Scruffy, Midwestern folk rockers Farewell Milwaukee actually make their home in Minneapolis, passing the long winters by writing songs and building a following of bundled-up supporters. Their latest album, Can’t Please You, Can’t Please Me, is filled with characters who are even colder on the inside.

In “True Love Don’t Leave Scars,” lead singer Ben Lubeck does his best to end a lingering relationship that has turned sour. Backed by a jangling triple-guitar attack, he seems to find out that some people just can’t take a hint.
