Aoife O’Donovan Sparkles on “Red & White & Blue & Gold”

Ah, another summer has passed us by. If you’re already feeling nostalgic, you’ll want to hear this live version of Aoife O’Donovan’s lovely tune, “Red & White & Blue & Gold.” She says she wrote the song shortly after the Fourth of July one year after spending a leisurely holiday hanging out with her friends in New York City. Feeling wistful and flirtatious, the singer-songwriter captures the warmth of the summer season in her appealing voice and elegant guitar playing.

Although her new album is titled Fossils, O’Donovan is one of the freshest voices in folk and Americana music today. On her upcoming fall tour, she’ll be performing in a trio with Jacob Silver on bass and Punch Brothers’ Chris Eldridge on guitar, in addition to a few solo shows.
