Dawes may be unlike most bands, in that they appeal to fans of rock and Americana alike. Perhaps it’s the special attention that singer, songwriter and guitarist Taylor Goldsmith pays to his thought-provoking lyrics, but the Los Angeles-based band is continually compared to the ‘70s country rockers of Southern California.
For “Most People,” off their third album Stories Don’t End, Goldsmith is singing about a girl he finds interesting precisely because she is not like most people. His somewhat odd observations get paired with a guitar hook that relies on harmonics, another unusual element that is unlike most songs. Check out the brand new video for Dawes’ “Most People.”
