Jonny Fritz Says Farewell With Fireworks in “Goodbye Summer”

Jonny Fritz dropped his old stage name, Jonny Corndawg, so maybe he’s feeling a bit more grown up nowadays. But in “Goodbye Summer,” Fritz shows that nobody’s ever too old to enjoy a Roman candle fight. The Dad Country singer (because he’s “not really an Outlaw, more like somebody’s weird dad”) takes to the desert with goofball antics and an eye toward non-professional fireworks displays. His conversational song has a more than hint of sadness in it while detailing the dingy side of his life on the road — like secondhand smoke, sleeping on floors and fans with a strange look in their eye. All backed by the stone-country sound of fiddle and twangy guitar, check out Jonny Fritz in “Goodbye Summer.”
