Lee Ann Womack Turned “Hope” Into ACM History

Lee Ann Womack racked up three wins at the ACM Awards in 2001, thanks to her signature song, “I Hope You Dance.” After spending five weeks at No. 1, the poignant balled claimed trophies in the single, song and vocal event categories. (The Sons of the Desert shared those wins, too, thanks to their prominent harmonies.) Although the poetic song was played millions of times on country, Top 40 and adult contemporary radio stations, the message still holds up. Have you heard it lately? I hope you enjoy “I Hope You Dance.”
