Boasting a wagon load of members and a sound that hitches Southern Californian pop punk with down-home Kentucky bluegrass, Old Man Markley are a band that like their music loud and fast. That’s at odds with the message behind their song “Train of Thought,” though, which keeps a steady break-neck pace even while urging listeners to hit the brakes.
“’Train of Thought’ reminds us, above the beautiful rush of sound, to remember to slow down and look around,” says bass player Joey Garibaldi. “Smell a rose. Watch a train go by. Take the scenic route.”
You might find it hard to follow that advice after this track gets your blood pumping, but take a moment to stop and enjoy the world premiere of Old Man Markley’s “Train of Thought.”
