Kait Lawson Serenades Her “Memphis” Hometown

Kait Lawson has taken a few detours in her life, which she writes about in “Memphis,” yet she sounds upbeat about being back home in the Bluff City. (In the photo above, she’s posing inside of a camper named Amurica, which travels the city and doubles as a photo booth. Who wouldn’t enjoy that?) Lawson enlisted a host of local musicians to record her upcoming album, Until We Drown, due March 19. In particular, listen for Al Gamble’s whirring Hammond organ that infuses a little bit of R&B flavor into this affable Americana tune. Check out the premiere of “Memphis.”
