See You Around Charlie Robison’s “My Hometown”

I haven’t been to my hometown in probably 10 years, but I’m always happy to spend some time with Charlie Robison’s easygoing song, “My Hometown.” Rather than extolling the virtues of small town life, Robison sings about dead end jobs, false starts and scattered friends. And it’s not played for laughs. Thanks to that persistent fiddle, “My Hometown” sounds like a Texas classic, and since it was originally released in the late 1990s, maybe it is considered a classic by now. If you feel like slowing down, see yourself around Charlie Robison’s “My Hometown.”
