The Lumineers’ “Stubborn Love” really lit me up the first time I heard it. There’s just so much truth in it, especially the line about the opposite of love. When I was in Washington state visiting friends over the summer, we listened to this song in the car every day, driving the open roads. For me, the persistent melody conveys a sense of forward momentum, and when the band chose a backseat for its point of view, I felt like I was hanging out with my friends again. Thank goodness it ends on a happy note, too, because this little girl’s expressive eyes got me all choked up. Catch CMT.com’s world premiere of the Lumineers’ cinematic video for “Stubborn Love.”
