Alison Krauss & Union Station Celebrated a “Lucky” Night

It would be impossible for me to choose my favorite song by Alison Krauss & Union Station, but “The Lucky One” would be pretty high on the list. Written by Robert Lee Castleman, this portrait of a player — and not the bluegrass musician kind — is perfectly matched to the melancholy in Krauss’ voice. Hey, we’ve all made bad decisions in romance. However, the Grammys made the right call when “The Lucky One” earned awards in 2001 for best country song and best country performance by a duo or group with vocal. Enjoy “The Lucky One.”
