Alan Jackson Brings the “Real World” Into Focus

I don’t think anyone beats Alan Jackson when it comes to a simple, straightforward lyric from the heart. Whether he’s singing about the most horrific tragedy imaginable or the bliss of summertime romance, he always presents some kernel of truth that was just out of sight before. For “Here in the Real World” from 1990, the Georgia native was just getting warmed up. It was his second single and first Top 10 hit, and his chosen subject was the unfair feeling of not getting the girl. Check out a thoughtful, young Alan Jackson in “Here in the Real World.”
